Every year, as much as 12,000 gallons of water can be wasted in an average home waiting for hot water to reach a fixture. If you are finding that it takes a while for hot water to reach your fixtures, there may be a solution. Hot Water Solutions offers the installation of hot water recirculation systems in the North Atlanta area.
How a Hot Water Recirculation Pump Works
The distance of your water heater to your fixture is one factor in determining how long it takes for hot water to reach that fixture. The further away the water heater is, the longer it takes to reach the fixture.
Without a recirculation pump, when a hot water tap is closed, the flow of water stops. The water then sits in the pipes and cools. When the hot water tap is opened, this cool water is pushed through the pipes before hot water from the water heater reaches the fixture.
With a recirculation pump, when a hot water tap is closed, hot water will stop briefly before it begins to circulate through the pipes. When the hot water tap is opened, hot water is delivered to the fixture right away.
Hot Water Solutions licensed plumbers can explain the different types of hot water recirculation systems, answer any of your questions, and help you decide what options are best for your hot water needs.
